What is IP and why is it needed?
An IP address is a unique identifier for your device that allows it to connect to the Internet. Before a device connects to the Internet, your provider assigns it a unique IP address. Depending on your tariff plan or the configuration settings of your provider, the IP address can be either dynamic or static.
- Dynamic IP address: Each time your device connects to the global network, the IP address will dynamically change. This may occur with each connection or once a day, depending on the specific settings of your Internet provider.
- Static IP address: If you need to always have the same IP address for each connection, you can order a paid static IP address service from your provider. In most cases, Internet providers offer this service for a fee. A permanent IP address may be necessary, for example, if you need IP-based access to a paid service or a work email, etc.
