Eudora – a popular email client in Western countries. Its advantage lies in its thorough functionality, which clearly sets this program apart from similar software in its class. Particularly noteworthy is the ability to work with email messages on PDAs. No other program has implemented this feature to such an extent.
The developer of Eudora made its creation a standard for currently existing email clients. Qualcomm, the company that works on creating and improving the program, previously offered it in several versions: Lite and Pro. The main differences between them lie in the distribution terms and email capabilities. The Lite version is available to anyone completely free of charge. If you want to fully use Eudora Pro, you need to pay a considerable amount.
Currently, three modes of use are available for this tool. The first option – Paid Mode – costs $39.95. By choosing it, you will be using the full version. When choosing Light Mode, you don't need to pay anything, however, you will be deprived of a huge number of useful options. The most interesting subscription version is Qualcomm: Sponsored Mode. The essence is that with the possibility of free use of the full program, you have to constantly see an advertisement window. The inconvenience lies in the fact that it is large and constantly gets in the way.
This email client offers users extensive capabilities. For example, there is the Eudora Sharing Protocol, with which a group of people can use the synchronized resources of each group member. If one of the users adds a file, deletes it, or makes changes to an existing one, then exactly the same changes are made on the computers of the other users.
There is the ability to create groups for subsequent management on Windows and Macintosh platforms. In this case, the program does not rely on a server. Access to ESP mode is granted only when using Sponsored Mode and Paid Mode. Note that for Palm OS, Eudora Internet Suite is included. With it, EIS will send or receive mail from a PDA, synchronizing with the desktop system. The Eudora Mail Conduit tool will assist you in this. Note that the latest version of EIS included the EudoraWeb browser for direct use of the network via PDA.
