FeedReader in Windows OS is used for managing, receiving and reading news feeds in ATOM and RSS formats. It was created by i-Systems Inc, an Estonian company. It has a multilingual interface. Using the program, you can organize a favorite database of RSS feeds, search by topics, and add tags. There is an Intelliupdate option that analyzes the frequency of article updates in individual feeds, and then articles are updated at that frequency.
The main task of the client is processing podcasts and news feeds. You can view news in the program and in any external browser. There are two modes for viewing news: viewing news text, downloading all images.
Feedreader can work with a proxy server, export and import news channels into OPML format files. The program has a fast and very convenient search with support for auto-completion – if you enter keywords, the client immediately filters out news that does not meet the criteria.
The new version also provides updates for services: Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, etc. This is the last version of FeedReader, its development has been discontinued. The author made this decision when Google announced plans to close the Google Reader service. Now FeedReader does not use the main feature – synchronization with Google Reader.
