foobar2000 was created by
Peter Pavlovsky, who worked at Nullsoft. A minimalist interface and enormous performance are combined with extensive functionality and expandability. It is considered one of the best, and in terms of capabilities it is comparable to
WinAmp and
AIMP.
The program plays virtually all currently known audio formats, provides connectivity for a huge number of additional modules for sound processing, support for other formats, archive management, and more. You can fully reconfigure the hotkeys for controlling
foobar2000. The player can be installed in both normal and portable modes.
The player uses little memory and handles huge playlists perfectly. It uses a new playlist format (m3u8) and supports reading tags in MP3 files.
