Light Alloy in
Windows OS is used to play all known multimedia file formats. It was originally created by
Softella, a Russian company, and later developed by
Vortex Team.
The program is optimized for quick launch with low PC resource usage. It fast-forwards video, minimizes to the system tray, and loads video subtitles. Built-in options allow adjusting contrast, brightness, and saturation of images, taking screenshots on the fly, and selecting audio tracks and subtitles in multilingual films. Light Alloy fully supports DVD discs.
Light Alloy player for Windows 7, 8 supports the following formats:
- Audio: WMA, AC3, MP3, WAV, MID, MIDI, AIF, MP1, AIFF, AAC, MP2, AIFC, KAR, STM, IT, FLAC, S3M, MPC, RA, RAM, SND, AU, MPA, OGG, APE, RMI, MKA, XM, MOD.
- Video: MOV, MP4, AVI, MKV, 3GP, WMV, DAT, M1V, ASF, DIVX, M2V, MPE, MPV, MPG, FLV, MPEG, RV, QT, OGM, RM, WM, VOB.
Light Alloy 2014 in Russian version: You can display the slider and control panel during playback in full-screen mode. The playback panel includes a timer; screen size changes while maintaining all proportions; resolution selection for full-screen viewing; filter settings. Playback speed can be changed. A playlist is maintained; frame-by-frame video viewing; frame extraction from movies; files and folders can be dragged directly into the player; markers can be set during playback.
Main functionality:
- Changing screen size, positioning, and scaling in full-screen mode.
- Playback speed can be changed from 10x slowdown to 2x acceleration, with frame-by-frame viewing.
- Audio and video decoder settings (DIVX – saturation, brightness, contrast).
- Subtitles are supported.
- A movie table is created based on playback lists, and markers can be set.
- Remote control via a remote control unit.
- Skins are supported.
To use all functions of the latest version of Light Alloy, registration is required. For Russia and Ukraine, user registration is free within the same program. To do this, click "About", then "Registration". A riddle will be presented there; solving it will allow you to register this version.
