QuickTime from Apple company, developed in 1991, is used for playing digital animations, sound, video, text, music, panoramic images in various formats. The player is often indispensable when viewing video streams on the Internet.
QuickTime can serve as a multimedia framework for other applications when performing multimedia tasks — for example, iMovie, iTunes, Final Cut Pro, which are released by Apple, and similar software from other manufacturers — for example, UleadVideo Studio, Adobe Photoshop CS.
The player has a set of codecs for playing files of its own format (MOV and QT), which are widely available on the Internet, and other widely common formats of digital animations, sound, video, and text (AVR, MP3, MPEG, AVI, Flash, AAC Audio).
