SketchUp Make is designed for rapid modeling of simple 3D objects (interior design, furniture, architectural structures) and editing 3D graphics. In 2006, the program was acquired by Google along with @Last Software, a small firm. In 2012, Google sold SketchUp to Trimble Navigation for $90 million. There are 2 versions — a free one with limited functionality (export to other formats) and a paid SketchUp Pro. Currently, for creating 3D map models, Google offers the online tool "Architect" instead of SketchUp.
SketchUp has an advantage — there are almost no pre-configuration windows. The program package includes realistic textures. The program helps add various new elements, details, and textures to models. The package also includes a plugin for GoogleEarth, which allows placing finished 3D objects in Google's mapping service; sending them for public use to 3D Warehouse, where you can search, supplement, view, and download SketchUp models.
