CoolNovo is a web browser used for displaying Internet pages. It is a free browser with no restrictions. It has two rendering engines: Trident and WebKit. Created in China based on a browser that uses the Chromium open-source code and is the predecessor of Google Chrome, as well as other similar browsers.
CoolNovo was formerly called ChromePlus (first version in 2009); since 2011, at Google's initiative, this browser was renamed. In fact, the CoolNovo browser fully justifies its original name (ChromePlus), because in addition to the existing functionality of Chromium, including Google Chrome, the developers equipped CoolNovo with new features and improved what was already there.
Main features:
- Advanced and correct mouse control of the browser. For this, Google Chrome requires additional extensions (e.g., "Smooth Gestures"). The function in CoolNovo also works without exception on all pages, while Google's browser does not support gesture control on "system pages" (browser settings tabs, empty tab, and others). Currently, CoolNovo has 5 new functions for working with the mouse:
- Double-click closes the page.
- Mouse gestures.
- Super drag.
- IE tab.
- Applications are supported for download in the context menu.
- When quickly navigating to the mouse gesture control settings in CoolNovo, the address bar inserts: chrome://settings/cpmousegesture/.
- The browser has a built-in ad blocker with advanced configuration functionality.
- A built-in file download manager.
- CoolNovo switches very quickly from one engine to another (for which there is a button in the address bar), using one of the engines as needed when opening web pages. This option is useful, for example, when conducting online payments or other banking operations (internet banking), since many websites where online payment transactions occur only work with the Internet Explorer browser (Trident engine) and not with others.
- In CoolNovo, like the Chromium-based browser SRWare Iron, elements for tracking and transmitting user information to Google are excluded.
- The browser has a number of other features that favorably distinguish it from Google Chrome and other web browsers.
