Dropbox allows users to place files on remote servers using

The file change history is recorded using delta encoding to save space occupied by files. Only the difference between file versions is recorded in the change history. Files uploaded by the client are not limited in size, but files uploaded via the web interface are limited to 300 MB. For public access, files can be placed in the "Public" folder, which ensures the use of the service as a file-sharing service. In new versions, public access to any folders in "My Dropbox" has appeared for further access via a "shareable link," i.e., via the web interface. Now, for working on projects, the service can create "Shared" folders for mutual access of individuals who have different accounts on the service. There is auto-sync of folders and files, as well as version storage with the possibility of rollback.
Dropbox is the official client for OS: MacOS, Linux, Windows; and for mobile: iPad, Android, iPhone, Symbian, BlackBerry, Bada, Windows Phone 7.
Unlike several analogues, Dropbox does not use client data encryption; this, for example, caused an incident on 19.06.2011. Then, due to an error in the updated server software, it was possible to log into any account for 4 hours by entering any password.
The service provides 2 GB of free storage for data, which can be increased by an additional 16 GB for free by inviting new users, or a few gigabytes can be obtained after completing tasks (installing the Dropbox app on mobile, etc.). You can buy 100 GB or more.
