InfraRecorder in Windows OS is used for burning DVD and CD discs. It is a graphical shell for the cdrtools package of console utilities. The program was created and is developed by Christian Kindahl.
InfraRecorder is comparable to paid programs and provides creation and burning of: data discs, music CD Audio, and video DVD discs. It offers users a powerful set of tools that work through a simple software interface and integration into Windows. The application supports disc images, on-the-fly disc copying (including cloning), ISO and UDF file systems, and burn simulations. Additionally, the program includes the InfraRecorder Express module — a quick task selection panel similar to Nero Express.

The program is distributed with an installer and in an archive. Versions are available for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.
InfraRecorder has its drawbacks: it does not burn HD DVD or Blu-ray discs, and does not support the FLAC format.
