WinLanEm – an email client that functions on a local network. Such an email system is intended for owners of local networks of any size. It does not matter whether the server is dedicated or not. WinLanEm does not work directly with network protocols. There is an existing network connection, so nothing depends on the protocol type.
WinLanEm allows you to compose messages and send them. You will also receive correspondence. Note that there is an instant reply feature. There is a convenient system for composing letters. You will use the pre-installed Far Manager editor. Adding a recipient will not take much time, since all you need is to simply select them from the list.
There is a feature for organizing mailing lists. This program includes a technology reminiscent of the SUBSCRIBE.RU mailing system. Of course, it has been somewhat simplified to meet the needs of a local network. With such a client, teleconferences can be organized, starting from two users to an infinite number. Discussions can be general or thematic.
If you no longer need a certain functionality, you can configure its blocking. For example, suspend a subscription, teleconferences, or create a "blacklist". You have access to three dozen parameters that you can adjust at your discretion. With them, you can change the program’s interface, the handling of incoming correspondence, and more.
When receiving .DOC and .XLS files, they are automatically loaded into the corresponding programs. The program supports an unlimited number of clients. Multiple different users can work on the same computer. All you need to do is select the required user from the list. If confidentiality needs to be maintained, set a password. It must be entered when starting the system.
The program updates automatically. Antivirus programs also update themselves. These operations occur simultaneously on all personal computers. Note that support is provided for Doctor Web and Norton AntiVirus. You just need to specify the path to the folder with antivirus files in the settings. Antivirus distribution is carried out by the network administrator via SENDNAV and SENDWEB.
