If Windows shuts down longer than 10-15 seconds, it means something is slowing down the process. In extreme cases, shutdown takes 20-25 seconds, and this is considered normal time.

If the shutdown time exceeds these limits, it means something is interfering with the computer's shutdown process, increasing the waiting time.

First of all: we should talk about how the computer shutdown process typically works. As a rule, when shutting down, the computer saves all changes that occurred in the system.

That is, it follows that the more changes have occurred, the longer the shutdown process will take. Accordingly, if you do not turn off your computer for 2-3 days or more, do not be surprised if it takes 40-50 seconds or even a minute to shut down. Also, the shutdown speed depends on the computer's power.

In Windows operating systems, the shutdown speed for medium-configuration computers is typically 15-20 seconds. For example, more powerful computers with Intel i7 processors take an average of 10 to 15 seconds to shut down. But again, these are indicators for a new computer.

That is, the shutdown speed is also affected by system load. In principle, computer load affects boot speed, operating speed, and naturally, shutdown speed. It turns out that the more loaded the computer is, the more time it will spend on all basic operations, etc.

There is one solution here: monitor your computer, remove unused software, and clean up HDD space. A special System Care program called CCleaner can help you deal with these issues, which has a set of functions for removing programs, cleaning HDD space, and finding and fixing registry problems.

We recommend you run these processes at least once a week, otherwise your computer will noticeably lose speed.

Additionally, we recommend you install some RegOptimizer to optimize the registry, which is also very important. An HDD defragmenter, even the built-in one, will also help. You can even set up automatic defragmentation on a schedule.

But perhaps the most important thing is antivirus software, since viruses can slow down the system the most. Literally, viruses can "kill" the system, or simply reduce its speed by 70-80%, causing heavy loads.

That is why we recommend you install trusted antiviruses and be sure to update them daily, preferably enabling auto-update. If you use your computer as a server or for work, install Kaspersky antivirus, it loads the system quite heavily, but at the same time, this drawback is compensated by the highest level of protection.

If you have a home PC, play games on it, browse the internet, and do your own things, then Eset Smart Security will provide the best protection for you, as it practically does not affect system performance while providing virtually the same high level of protection as Kaspersky.

If Windows does not see the printer, the problem almost always lies in driver issues. However, we also recommend checking the clarity of the printer cable connections to the computer, as well as the functionality of the printer itself.
